Work explore the tension and naive betrayal of female beauty.

Deep red yarn hangs and strangles objects of femininity. While leashing these objects, the bow ties feign a gift-like sentiment, reminiscent of femininity often being presented as a gift to young girls. Objects selected are specifically those of feminine domestic spaces, focusing around orifices in reference to the objectification of female forms. The final work takes on a repetitive nature, similar to wall paper in domestic spaces. We lose meaning in pattern.

Work explores the promise of ‘whiteness’ healing and saving bodies of color through coating, covering, and hiding.

White gauze and ‘nude‘ bandaids wrap and hide the brown figure, inadvertently working with the pins that pierce its skin to obstruct the figure. The brown-ness bleeds though, persevering, yet pained. The workspace remains, evidence of the carnage and active violence taken against the body.
